New pictures from daughter!

1. We attract new visitors each week - seen on garage roof!

2. One of these Rhode rocks came to us with a twisted beak, this is genetic in chickens and dosn't cause any pain or eating problems, Happy beak now lives happily with our egg laying hens enjoying being amongst her friends.

It was lovely and warm last Sunday when we welcomed a couple who were new to keeping chickens. They had the coop and all the food etc - they just needed the hens.

New Point of Lay Hybrid Hens

Very hectic weekend - lots of people came over to pick up their new point of lay hens. Love it when some people come for a certain number, see the hens in real life and then buy more! No hard sell though - we want people to be happy and love hens as much as we do!

We managed to sell two - thirds of the hens over the weekend! Only a few Rhode Rock and Goldline now available - more breeds will be available end February/early March. The pic is one of our pretty Goldlines.

Scampi arrives

Over Christmas, we had a new addtion to the household - a 3 year old long haired cat, called Scampi.

He came from the Cats Protection Centre at Longham nr Dereham. After a settling in period where he hid behind the washing machine he is now getting more confidence.

Hopefully he will soon be able to venture out into the garden and start deterring any mice!!!

Kitchen Garden

Well with the lovely weather today, our thoughts turn to Spring and the Kitchen Garden plot.

After watching the Great British Garden revival programme on BBC2 we feel inspired! Hopefully by the summer, our plot will be full of vegetables and flowers that we can sell and make some income 8)

It is a complete mess at the moment as you can see from the first pic on the gallery page!!!!! We are trying to be positive though - watch this space.......
